Xochitl spent a nearly two weeks with us while Kim attended a training in Utah and then she went to Honduras, to meet her son, Javier. Yes, we pray this little three 1/2 year old will soon join our family. He looks adorable and we can't wait to meet him!
In the meantime, we loaded up the rig and headed to Duluth and the North Shore. Xochitl and Willie are best buddies, so it was great fun until dang, what is that disturbing noise? It's some alarm system in the truck driving us all nuts when we're on the road. Coming through all 8 speakers....#$%$@$@%@%#@$#@@#$^%^&
Despite the 'bonging', we had so much fun. Xochitl brought her big dog "Buttercup" so she welcomed the queen size guest bed. We toured Duluth and the lift bridge, searched for agates at Agate Beach and explored lighthouses. We went to the Duluth Acquarium and had lunch at Grandma's. We hiked to Gooseberry Falls in the rain, got lost, listened to Grandpa whine about "I'm so cold and hungry" but FINALLY made it back to the truck. We camped at the KOA Campground in Cloquet, where Xochitl found the pool a really big hit.
We had so much fun with this special girl, who is growing up way too fast! We look forward to more camping trips with Xochitl. And oh ya,
the bonging...well after the truck with the rig behind spent a full day at Mills GMC in Brainerd, it was determined it was a trailer issue. So Gil hauled it back to the lake and took it into Warren's Auto in Park Rapids. The good news? It's fixed.....hurrah
