Weekend Fun!
Saturday at 8 a.m. was yoga on the beach! What a fun event that was with my new friend and about 30 other people. At yoga they mentioned that there was a free panbcake breakfast at the Duckworth Antique Store so off we went where they were flipping pancakes in one bay of the car wash. It was great fun with the Chief of Police showing up and live music to entertain us. Next we headed off to the University of TX Education Center to watch a presentation on the science of spheres. Shows you what I know....I thought it was the spheres of Costa Rica, but no, it was an amazing 6 ft. sphere that is fed by 4 projectors. There are only about 25 in the world. Nice there is one here and one at the Science Museum of MN. It is definitely worth a visit if you can. It's an amazing experience and the information shared is pretty amazing. They download info from NOAA.
We toured Rockport, TX where the institute is located. The big blue crab is a local landmark that was wiped out by hurriane Ike, but has since been rebuilt. There is also a maritime museum, art gallery and acquarium. We will catch those another time.

It was great fun Tango'ing with the Seattle kids ---- just seeing them makes the distance easier. Little Brody is changing so fast and getting so big and Maycen is so cute chattering. Then Xochitl sent a text with a message on a donut that said, "Text Me" on the donut (which was for a good report card). How can you not love technology when you can't physically be together?
I was excited to complete 7 miles walking the beach yesterday - YAY! 86 on Sunday isn't hard to take when MN is 6 - 7 inches of stuff they call snow! We are working hard on the eating less walking more thing;-) The RV trend seems to be flying windsocks and kites from your RV....the picture above is our neighbors windsock. We'll have to get Winter Texans sock!
Today it is windy, drizzly and while pretty warm it frankly nasty out so we headed to Corpus for groceries and a few laps around the mall, stopping for a couple of goodies at the Pandora store! Gil has been busy up on the ladder installing a new rear back-up camera. It's working so a fun project for him is done.
We continue to work on our three retirement things: learning something new, exercise and new friends....it's a good life!
